After many year of adventures in Africa and in Sweden as the Congo Queen, this DC-3 flew to China in 2021 under an US register and gained the colors of the China National Aviation Corporation.
China National Aviation Corporation was the national airline of the Republic of China, a civilian airline formed in 1929 that folded in 1949 during the collapse of the ROC when 12 aircraft defected to Beijing and Tianjin, one of them being flown by the airline´s general manager. The rest of the fleet was then scrapped in Hong Kong, the airline under the People´s Republic of China was then renamed Civil Aviation Administration of China, which flew one DC-3 and 31 LI-2 until the company ceased operations in 1988.
Here depicted is the XT-125 that celebrates the 70 years of the airline, the original XT-115 is in Datashang airport and shows the PRC flag in the rudder (even though it was not used during CNAC operations) and is kept in flying condition being displayed in special aviation related events.
