Northwest Airlines PMDG’s 737-900 – “Bowling Shoe”
As requested, here is PMDG’s 737-900 in Northwest’s ‘Bowling Shoe’ Livery. This well known livery was designed by Landor Associates and started to appear on Northwest’s aircraft in 1989, before being replaced in 2003 with the silver ‘nwa’ livery.
It appeared across Northwest’s fleet, in particular the Boeing 747 and 757. NWA didn’t fly the 737, so this is very much an adaptation, taking into account the sharper nose cone than the 757 as shown in the requestor’s picture.
The iconic design featured a red, grey and white scheme, with a very dark blue line throughout, and a classic ‘NORTHWEST’ typeface, and the N arrow logo on the tail.
I’ve put together the fictional N597NW 737-900, 'manufactured' in 2003, with fleet number 5817. In prepping for this livery, I noticed some of Northwest’s aircraft got a little worse-for-wear for the years, so in a first for me, I made a ‘dirty’ version also, with the notable circle patch where the KLM partnership logo was eventually removed.
Again, another spoof EFB Tablet Wallpaper is included, with its 2003 origin kept in mind.

Your comments are always welcome, relatively new to the livery business so always hoping to improve, and if you like it then I'd be very grateful for your review. I hope it matches the expectations of the requestor!
Also, would love to see the classic Northwest Orient scheme! Thank you the great work!
