You will need to download Bagolu's C172 Classic Taildragger to use this livery. (bagolu-c172-taildragger-classic)
Ever since I saw a National Geographic film called Flight Over Africa, I've been trying to get this done.I've waited for a C182 Skywagon Tail dragger for too long though, so I did the next best thing.
This is Bagolu's STOL Cessna 172 taildragger in the Livery of Tom Claytor's N591NC "Timmissartok".
Claytor's plane is called "Timmissartok" after the Greenlandic word "to fly like a bird".
In December 1990, bush pilot Tom Claytor set off from Philadelphia, USA on a journey. He was attempting to fly around the world via all seven continents to look at conservation issues in the remote corners of world. If successful, it would have been the first single-pilot flight around the world to land on all seven continents for the Guinness book of Records. He made it pretty far. I believe the plane sits in Thailand now.
The flag on the cowl under the plane's name, "Timmissartok" is that of a group of Bushmen lion trackers he met on his journey. The croc graphic on the door is a beer ad. Ngok is a popular beer only available in Congo. I'm guessing he became a fan.
Claytor's journey through Africa was the subject of a one hour National Geographic Special "FLIGHT OVER AFRICA" in 1994.
I found the Asobo Cessna 172, let's say... a challenge to repaint.
This one's a bit rough, but the best I could do.
The actual aircraft is a C182 Skywagon, but until one appears on the horizon for MSFS,
this will have to do.
Done using Gimp and a bit of Blender.
Just place the file : Livery-c172classic-taildragger-N591NC into your Community folder and away you go.
Some info on the actual plane : http://www.claytor.com/intro/
She's a bit famous...
Enjoy!
