MilViz FG-1D Corsair Goodyear "Robert Hampton Gray" Last Candian to recive the Victorian Cross.
This is not a retrace! or reuse! of the original Textures that already come with the MilViz FG-1D. This is a whole new paint based on the Current Paint scheme and by request.
Robert Hampton "Hammy" Gray, VC, DSC, RCNVR (November 2, 1917 – August 9, 1945) was a Canadian naval officer, pilot, and recipient of the Victoria Cross (VC) during World War II, one of only two members of the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm to have been thus decorated in that war. (The other was Eugene Esmonde, a British pilot.) Gray is the second to last Canadian to be awarded the Victoria Cross.
Glad you made this one too =)

Very well done! The real aircraft, last operated as C-GVWC by Vintage Wings of Canada, was severely damaged in a botched landing back in 2019. Having kept it in storage ever since, the museum just recently sold it, via Platinum Fighter Sales, to a new private owner who plans on having it restored back to flying condition again, though it's going to take some years. The restoration was originally completed by Airpower Unlimited for Gary Kohs in 2003, at which time it was finished in factory-new US Navy markings. At the time, it was the most accurately-restored and fully WWII-era configured Corsair flying. After Vintage Wings of Canada acquired the aircraft, around 2007, the Royal Navy Hampton Gray markings were all added with vinyl graphics applied over the paint.
