This bush trip offers you all the legs of the real VFR flights we flew in May 2019 with a Cessna 172. It's a loop in California, Nevada and Arizona, from San Diego to Los Angeles, Monterey, Mojave, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Marble Canyon, Sedona, Big Bear, Oceano and some others. Try to fly as much as we did in VFR by following VFR charts but most of all, look outside and enjoy the sightseeing+MSFS world rendition. This is my first bush trip thanks to BushTripInjector by BuffyGC. Comments are welcome!
Important: starting from version 1.1, if you have download and start a previous version of this Bush Trip, be advise that choosing the new version in MSFS Activity will make you restart all the leg.
What's new in V1.3
+ re-compile with the latest version of BushTripInjector 0.4.8.629 adding ATC WITH VOICE What's new in V1.2
+ re-compile with the latest version of BushTripInjector 0.4.7.626 adding ATC (NO voice, text only), weather selection, checklist.

- Catalina to San Diego Montgomery via Miramar MCAS
How long?
- Flight length: 2000 nm
- Flight Duration: +17 hours (estimated)
- Number of legs: 16
- Min / Max leg: 19 min / 1h43min
How to install?
Unzip the file into your Community folder. Once installed go to Activities, Bush Trips and select Farwest'19 in the list.
Limitations
- No altitude are set in the nav log due to Little Nav Map Flight Plan capabilities. There's no way to set altitude for each legs but some indications are available in each legs.
- As soon as you stop your plane, the legs stop and... congratulations! In MSFS you can stop on the runway or just after vacated. It's up to you. But then you have finished the leg. In real world, another journey starts: find a parking slot for the plane and most of the time find the way to the FBO and fuel
- This bush trip package use the Cessna 172 G1000 to be compatible with all MSFS version from standard to Premium Deluxe.
- The magenta line is not display on the G1000 MFD even if the full route is loaded. Because it would be too much helpful ;)

This looks really fun, but unfortunately, I am locked to about 15 FPS, due to the many POIs. If I just load a normal flight with the same Origin and Destination, I'm back into the 80-100 FPS.
adamisafk
It needs to be split up into several bush trips, the amount of POIs causes a huge amount of lag at the moment

This is the most fun I have had in Flight Simulator since Microsoft Flight Simulator 98! I especially appreciate the fact that the Navlog gives you instructions based on real life navigation sources such as VOR's and those instructions include to fly VOR radials. I am thankful that this bush flight doesn't hold your hand and expects a certain degree of piloting knowledge to complete it. This bush flight makes me more excited and motivates me to want to pursue my own Personal Pilots license. Thank you, and I hope to see more of these developed from you!

Very kind message! Thanks to you.
Enjoy every moment of your PPL courses. The early beginning of learning aviation may be - finally - after I passed 900 hours of VFR/Private/Leasure flights, my best part of my flight experience. Enjoy every minutes!

Salut Vincent,

Don't really know how to handle this, but saw on some other Bush trip that you may have to delete the Mission State Folder. Maybe some other players know?

I loved this bush trip, up to the point of trying to land at Mojave.
The odd 5000 wind turbines killed MSFS when trying to approach Mojave from the direction of Bakersfield. After two lengthy failed attempts, I decided to increase the virtual memory in Windows by a considerable amount, and returned my PC from almost all ULTRA settings to a rather better mix.
Since I was running an RTX 3080 card with a 5120x1440 ultra-widescreen monitor, I was probably a bit optimistic with complete ULTRA settings. I upped my virtual memory from 8GB to 300GB, but only because I had that much spare. I already had 32GB real memory with my Ryzen Threadripper, so I'm not sure whether the CTD was because of my lack of virtual memory, or because of my Ultra settings, or due to a memory leak on longish low-level flights.
Previously, I had noticed a significant slowdown and jerkiness towards the end of a long flight, and Montery to Mojave was a longish flight.
I changed my settngs using this guide ...
https://www.msfsaddon.com/2021/02/flight-simulator-2020-maximize.html
... but I also intend to try this guide ...
https://www.flightsimulator.blog/2021/11/18/best-graphics-settings-guide/
The initial changes allowed me to finally finish the flight to Mojave with rather smoother graphics. I always wondered what a screenful of wind turbines would look like.

Hello Vincent.

Is it possible to choose another plane for this flight?
vbazillio author
Check the FAQ on my blog : https://20-100-video.blogspot.com/2020/12/farwest-2019-microsoft-flight-simulator.html considering I'm not much involved in this development anymore, it may have new possibilities at the time of writing the FAQ.

Very nice !! Some of the legs are a bit long for me (1,5hrs) and in my opinion could be cut in half, but it's a job well done. I would love to see more of these trips trough out the USA.

Absolutely amazing bush trip. Been at many places during my roadtrip and it is just amazing to fly it all over again. Big kudos to you!
