I'd like to first acknowledge the labour of love that Redbaron601 (Roger) has put in to develop both YBRA and Ben Buckley's lakeside strip. With a bit of local knowledge I've been back and forwards with Roger on this and Roger has made good everything I've asked and much more. I think this is an important aviation project and for those who don't know Ben Buckley, who passed away last year, he was an Australian aviation legend in the true sense. Without exaggeration Ben is really the high country's aviation equivalent of the Man from Snowy River. There is not enough space here to go in the legend he was and the impact he has had on GA, aerial fire fighting, emergency evacs, CASA and agricultural. Redbaron601 has put a link in the read me file to a short video on Ben, but if you want an absolute jaw dropping aviation read I recommend Buckely's Chance - Ben's biography. Again Roger thanks. I think you can wipe the brow and move on to another project now. Early today before this release Roger emailed me and said "I suppose Neil you now want to put fish in Lake Omeo" .. I didn't have the heart to tell Roger that for much of the year it's dry; but I too was up there last October and it was full. So captured wonderfully.
Thanks again Redbaron601, I reckon the Benambra folk would be tickled pink with what you've done and Ben' would make some cheeky comment.

I recently drove through and had a little explore of Benambra. It was super interesting to see the little hangar and aircraft associated with the lakeside airstrip! As there has been plenty of rain, and the lake isn't dry, the airstrip actually runs the length of Lake Omeo Parade with runway/aircraft caution signs and gable markers (I think they were old white tires). Quite unique and very cute!
