For Helicopter enthusiasts, I offer this small '3 in 1' utility which allows you to better understand the
Stationary.
Very useful for hover training, especially when you have no visual cue (at high altitude)
Installation:
None, just unzip the "STABILO.ZIP" folder and run the file named "STABILO.EXE"
STABILO is run in an independent window and remains visible whether in "Exterior" or "Cockpit"
mode
Prerequisite: FSUIPC is required
(even the free version is sufficient, available at www.fsuipc.com)
Fsuipc must be installed and active during the simulation otherwise the utility does not run and
returns an error message
Use:
- Instrument 1 : To achieve a perfect hover, you have to position the blue circle exactly around the yellow central
circle.
The blue circle makes it possible to visualize the movements not felt in simulation (in particular the
phenomenon that the pilots of real flights nickname the "piloting with the buttocks")
- Instrument 2 : As soon as the translation speed exceeds around 15 knts, the circle changes color (Beige) and
represents the Skid Ball on the upper part of the gauge.
- Instrument 3 : The right part represents the Radio Altimeter between 0 and 200 Feet.
This application is provided free of charge and as is by Didier LAMANT

I frequently use STABILO. I's a great tool!! Thanks a lot!!! I usually use TRANSPARENT in the transparent mode. During night time, when the sky is dark, then its difficutult to judge if you still coordinated during forward flight. I wonder if you can improve the visibility of the moving circle during night flight (at 15 knot plus) in transparent mode. Many thanks in adavance!

Dear Didier,
the addition of dynamic length "bargraphs", relative to the VS (Vertical Speed), work very well! Luckily you keept the up/down arrows. In comparison to the vertical speed bargraphs, these up/down arrows resemble a climb of about +/- 500 ft/min. That's very helpful for standaridized approaches with helicopters, where a decent rate of 500 ft/min is commonly used. Thanks for adding these very handy bargraphs"! I'll have to buy you another coffee.

thank you HEC, I'm glad it suits you.
I was reproached that the arrows had now become useless and redundant but I preferred to leave them in place because as you point out, this allows them to be used as a template at rates of +/-500Ft/m.
I'm on my nerves with all these coffees you offer me (thank you again it's encouraging)

Dear Didier,
having the speed indications (KIAS/knots) and vertical speed (VS Fts/m) is actually very helpful!!!
Suggestion: Right now the upward and the downward arrows for the vertical speed always have the same length. It would be great if the length of the arrows changes - depending on the actua rate of climb or descent.
Best regards
Holger

Thank you, Do you have a proposal that you would like to see carried out to improve the visibility of the circle ?
I will take it into account and you will make the modification as soon as possible.

Thanks to you for the info.
in my opinion it is rather the base of the false positive signatures of defender which has been updated in the meantime! This is why I was not worried because on my side nothing has changed except a few additional lines of code, I still use the same programming environment (Microsoft Visual Studio !).

FSUIPC-7 LOWNLOADED , INSTALLED BUT DON'T START: HELP ME.

FSUIPC is a utility developed by Peter DOWSON. It allows (among other things) to exchange data between the simulator and any other external addon.
Once the simulator just run FSUIPC (or even before and it is also possible to configure FSUIPC so that it starts automatically when the sim is started).
It places itself in minimized mode in the taskbar (next to the clock). It is not necessary to access it because it takes care of everything on its own.
