Summit Road Airstrip, New-Zealand, for MSFS
Real-life airstrip, fictitious ICAO code NZ67
Version 1.2
--Description--
There are hundreds of small airstrips in NZ dedicated to agricultural aerial work (crop-dusting / Top-dressing).
"Summit Road Airstrip" is one of them (the name is from my own imagination).
Located in the Banks Peninsula, east of Christchurch, in South Island, it's a convenient place to start or end your scenic flight over the beautiful Akaroa harbour.
--The scene--
It's a new airfield in MSFS and for this I used custom assets, default assets and some assets from various libraries. Please make sure you have them installed in your "Community" folder.
It features:
- custom Fletcher FU24 aircraft (quite an old one actually!)
- custom top dressing bin
- kilometers of fences
- sheeps
It's a great addition to my other strips in the area:
- Akaroa Airstrip (https://flightsim.to/file/21468/akaroa-airstrip-nz69)
--What's new--
v1.2
Made compatible with World Update 12 "New Zealand" from February 2023.
--Installation--
Please remove any previous version of this scenery you may have.
Just unzip and drop the "sbworks-airport-nz67-summitroadairstrip" folder into your "Community" folder of MSFS.
It is strongly recommended to install those libraries:
- SBWorks Asset Library v1.1 or above (https://flightsim.to/file/21396/sbworks-asset-library)
- BeeKay-Pack1 v5.0 or later (https://flightsim.to/file/8887/beekay-pack1)
- Dave's 3d people v1.0.5 or later (https://flightsim.to/file/5452/dave-s-3d-people-library)
- Dave's 3D animals Libray v1.2.0 or later (https://flightsim.to/file/6841/dave-s-3d-animals-library)

I can't help but wonder if you are working your way through the ORBX FTX NZNI and NZSI Unlisted strips .BGLs? They released them as freeware for FSX/P3D years ago now and add hundreds of these kinds of airstrips to the sim. I left Little Navmap in P3D mode once and sure enough, the locations still line up with depictions of little strips in the photo imagery in MSFS.

HI Andrew. Actually no, I now remember of such a file but I proceed differently, mainly with other sources such as NZ maps. Then, I select the strips I would like to fly from/to based on feeling and overall area opportunities. For instance, I love the Wakatipu (NZQN-NZGY) area and thought it would be nice to have airstrips to support a round trip of the lake. For Akaroa area, or the Marlborough area, it's the same approach ;)

Great stuff, just did a short jaunt from chch to here and then on to your Akaroa. A good excuse to explore the peninsula.

Exactly, since there is no obvious stop in there by default, I thought it would help ;) Thanks!

great work as usual mate! just a quick one, would you consider doing like a sheep mod LUL for the whole south island if possible? just chucking sheep around in the place? its mad how good they look from above and as we know the south island is full of them for the merino wall, just an idea dude XD

Ahah! What, populating the whole island with sheeps? That would be great indeed, but a hell of a job ^^
